The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 goes on trade this summer. Chevrolet enter the World of Super cars by Corvette ZR1 Chevrolet formally announce the 2009 Corvette ZR1 an American super cars that bring the technique in like manner engineering refinement of carbon-fiber, ceramics en plus electronics together in a name configuration. Sure, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 will staple the fastest car GM has ever heaped, priced at $100,000.
The 620 horsepower LS9 V8 under the hood of the Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful engine ever developed for road use by Chevrolet. The small block V8 sends 595 lb feet of torque to the pavement during a 6 speed manual transmission. Eaton came up with a Roots-type supercharger specifically designed for the LS9, with a wider than normal power band and a charge cool system designed more to advance the reliability of the system than to add any extra power. All of that horsepower would be useless with no stopping power to match, and the ZR1 maintains the Z06’s reputation as a Corvette fit for the track by adding carbon ceramic brakes and magnetic ride control that allows the driver to control the firmness of the vehicle’s suspension. The ZR1 rides on 20 inch wheels in the rear and 19 inch wheels in the front.
The Corvette Group is pleased of the leather-wrapped interior that comes with the luxury package. The cars we drove at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds and on nearby roads all had it. The six classic white-on-black gauges are impeccably clear and intelligible. The perforated-leather sport seats included with the luxury package are comfy and offer easy ingress and egress. They provide better lateral support than Corvette Z06 seats for the upper body, but keen drivers would probably jump at the option of a deeper-sculpted or better-bolstered cushion for any serious track work.
The Corvette has long been touted as a true good deal for its exceptional performance equation. Chevrolet even throws in an advanced driving course. With all this, the ZR1 becomes the ultimate max performance all-rounder.
