The 2010 Honda Accord has a cushier, more cautious appeal than it’s coupe cousin, but it is still an magnetic vehicle. Edmunds sings the Accord Sedan’s praises, announcing its “eye-catching styling proves that authentic transportation does not have to be bland.” Concording to Kelley Blue Book, “a bolder forepart, deeper side sculpting and more noticeable fender flares give the all-new 2009 Honda Accord Sedan a crisper, more significant look.” The Accord Coupe is definitely more of an attention-getter, and most readers take heed.

Cars.com notes the Coupe’s “chiseled look that’s highlighted ahead by a narrow mesh grille and bulging front fenders.” Jalopnik isn’t as enthusiastic as a different commentators regarding the Coupe’s exterior or interior esthetics, saying, “In places the 2009 Honda Accord Coupe is woefully bland, in others awkwardly edgy.” The interior of both models receives mixed reviews, with Cars.com asserting that the Accord’s “faux aluminum trim has a nice matte finish, but its appearance is not very convincing,” while Edmunds considers the design simple, yet handsome. The reviewer also favors the Accord Coupe’s cabin: “Honda has always done tight panels and high quality surfaces, but with the new Accord Coupe they’ve really outdone themselves.”

The Honda Accord has been an first-class tasteful for most family sedan customers for more than a generation. The 2010 Accord does nothing to change that, with a roomy interior, performance that’s just a bit sporty and always predictable, strong safety scores and reliability that means few expensive surprises.

Honda has accepted the wraps off its freshly CR-Z Concept at the forty-first Tokyo Motor Show. The Japanese automaker confirmed that the 2011 Honda CR-Z will be presented to the North American market in the 2nd half of 2010 as a sporty, 2-seat hybrid model.

“The Honda CR-Z will expand our lineup of hybrid vehicles and reinforce the fun-to-drive values associated with the Honda brand,” said Erik Berkman, vice president of Automobile Corporate Planning and Logistics for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Beyond great styling and features, CR-Z will bring new levels of engagement and fun to customers interested a small car or a hybrid vehicle.”

Power will follow from a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine mated to Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist hybrid technology. Honda confirmed that the production version of the 2011 Honda CR-Z will make its world debut at the January 2010 Detroit Auto Show.

As the hybrid war between Honda and Toyota commences, Honda has accepted it up a notch by offering a sporty hybrid concept, the 2011 Honda CRZ. Based on current CRZ design, the new 2011 version will have better body styling for minimizing drag likewise as a higher-horsepower engine than the Insight.

The CRZ design was first unveiled as a concept model in 2007, based on the popular (but discontinued) CRX 2-door coupe. Originally, the CRZ was to be a gasoline-powered car, but Honda has since dropped that in favor of hybrid power.

The body design is distinctly wedge-shaped, sort of the modern equivalent of the popular 1980s high-end sports cars.

The Honda Insight is the 1st hybrid electric automobile manufactured by the Honda Company and to feature the Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist system. The 1st Honda Insight models, as well known as the 1st generation Insight cars were made up between the years 1999 to 2006 as a three-door hatchback.

The 2010 Honda Insight is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, ready in 3 trims, ranging from the LX to the EX w/ Navigation. Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 1.3-liter, I4, 98-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 40-mpg in the city and 43-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2010 Honda Insight is the cheapest gas-electric hybrid on the market and has ranked as the top-selling vehicle in Japan for April 2009-the first time a hybrid has clinched that spot. The Honda Insight was a subcompact hatchback 3,945 mm (155.3 in) in length with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm (94.5 in) a height of 1,355 mm (53.3 in) and a width of 1,695 mm (66.7 in). Only three different trims were available: a manual transmission without air-conditioning, a manual transmission with air-conditioning, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with air-conditioning. Honda built the insight with aluminum front brake calipers and rear brake drums; the fuel tank was plastic; the engine mounts were aluminum; and the exhaust was a small, thin wall pipe. The Insight weighed 1,847 lb (838 kg) in manual transmission form or 1,964 lb (891 kg) with CVT and air conditioning. The original Insight had a conventional manual transmission. The Intelligent Power Unit, the Power control Unit, the Electronic Control Unit, the vehicle’s batteries, converter and a high-voltage inverter are all located under the cargo floor of the vehicle, behind the seats..

The 2010 Honda Insight is the latest new small hybrid car. Honda says the Insight will be “the most affordable hybrid vehicle to date.” Honda plans to sell around 200,000 Insights, half of those in North America.

In addition to the low price tag, the Insight keeps up relatively well with the Prius in gas mileage too. The Insight also boasts a 1.3 liter gasoline engine that produces 88 horsepower with an electric motor that adds an additional 13 horsepower. The electric engine also utilizes regenerative braking. Despite two different engine types working in tandem, the switch is virtually seamless. The gasoline crankshaft never stops spinning so there is no noisy rumbling when it kicks in.

The 2010 Honda Insight is significantly smaller than the Prius which can be seen as a positive or negative depending on a consumer’s situation. Reviewers out there have also mentioned that the Insight produces a significant amount of road noise but that seems like a small sacrifice when you are saving some green.

While hybrids are still relatively new to the car scene, auto makers are making considerable improvements. It looks as though hybrid is the way of the future and more consumers are turning to these cars to help save them money. With their incredible fuel-efficiency and environmentally friendly features they are quickly becoming consumers’ top choice. Hybrids not only save consumers money at the gas tank but at tax time as well. If you are thinking about getting yourself into a new hybrid vehicle, make sure you take a look at the Insight.

The Honda CR-V presents a smooth drive and responsive handling. The 4-cylinder engine employs variable uptake valve timing to optimize horsepower and torque for speeding up and cruising speeds and it’s similar with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Consumers choose from three models: the basic LX, mid-range EX, or leather-upholstered EX-L, which can be fitted with a possible navigation system that incorporates a rear view video camera for safe and simple backing.

The 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L 4WD 5-Spd AT w/Navigation comes with these standard features: anti theft, power accessories, child safety door locks, stability/traction control, power lockable tail gate, ABS brakes, real time 4WD, hill descent control, locking hubs, CD changer with 7 speakers and speed sensing volume, a navigation system, daytime running lights, automatic climate controls, rear HVAC ducts, temperature gauge, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, steering wheel mounted controls, compass, trip computer with miles until empty, key less entry, power trunk, remote controls/releases, rear electronic parking aid, dual front reclining/heated/leather seats, driver power lumbar, tilt steering column, sunroof, sunshade, upper/lower lockable glove boxes, tinted glass, interval wipers, rear defroster and power and mirrors.

The new Honda CR-V looks longer than the previous one because of the lower roof line but is in fact 100mm shorter, due in part to the missing spare wheel. However, it is some 40mm wider in the body and track making it more stable and car-like to drive. The extra body width allows for larger, wider seats in the front, which also benefit from improved height-adjustment via a ratchet-lever in place of rotary controls. EX models have 8-way power adjustment and lumbar support for the driver. The good news for taller people is that there is an extra 20mm travel on the slide rails and the steering wheel now has reach-adjustment as well as rake.
