Honda CR-V, A Smooth Drive SUV

The Honda CR-V presents a smooth drive and responsive handling. The 4-cylinder engine employs variable uptake valve timing to optimize horsepower and torque for speeding up and cruising speeds and it’s similar with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Consumers choose from three models: the basic LX, mid-range EX, or leather-upholstered EX-L, which can be fitted with a possible navigation system that incorporates a rear view video camera for safe and simple backing.

The 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L 4WD 5-Spd AT w/Navigation comes with these standard features: anti theft, power accessories, child safety door locks, stability/traction control, power lockable tail gate, ABS brakes, real time 4WD, hill descent control, locking hubs, CD changer with 7 speakers and speed sensing volume, a navigation system, daytime running lights, automatic climate controls, rear HVAC ducts, temperature gauge, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, steering wheel mounted controls, compass, trip computer with miles until empty, key less entry, power trunk, remote controls/releases, rear electronic parking aid, dual front reclining/heated/leather seats, driver power lumbar, tilt steering column, sunroof, sunshade, upper/lower lockable glove boxes, tinted glass, interval wipers, rear defroster and power and mirrors.

The new Honda CR-V looks longer than the previous one because of the lower roof line but is in fact 100mm shorter, due in part to the missing spare wheel. However, it is some 40mm wider in the body and track making it more stable and car-like to drive. The extra body width allows for larger, wider seats in the front, which also benefit from improved height-adjustment via a ratchet-lever in place of rotary controls. EX models have 8-way power adjustment and lumbar support for the driver. The good news for taller people is that there is an extra 20mm travel on the slide rails and the steering wheel now has reach-adjustment as well as rake.
