The newest styling from the BMW 323i is smooth and modern with a subtle hint of punchiness. The smoothly curving silhouette and lines manage to combining stylish aerodynamic features and still blend beautifully with the distinctive BMW grille. On the whole, it’s very easy on the eye. On the interior, even the entry-level BMW 323i is lusciously upholstered in Dakota leather. A range of trims are obtainable, containing titanium matt, burr walnut, brushed aluminium and natural poplar.
The BMW 323i’s heart is a 2.5-litre inline 6-cylinder that has 174 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic transmission. It has a lot tamer than the 215 horses put out by the 325i, or the 255 ponies under the 330i’s hood; the entry level is a lot of seductively smooth luxury machine than hot sports car. It’s highly quiet, and its ride is impressively comfortable. The 330 begs for twisty roads and a heavy right foot, while the 323 is the car you want to go for the theatre in the city core, where you will be able to tune out all the noise and potholes around you, and just enjoy being in that seat.
BMW offerings a wide range of choices for the 323i that can raise its luxury levels a bit higher, albeit at a price. The BMW 323i can be fitted with an M Sport package that includes 17″ double spoke alloy wheels, sports seats and sports suspension – and a especial multifunction steering wheel. Exterior choices include metallic paint, adaptive bi-Xenon headlights, high beam assist and an alarm system which should deter the yobbo who decides BMW represents “Break My Windows”. On the inside, optional extras about offer range from heated seats and active steering to an 8.8″ colour monitor and professional navigation system which includes TV and voice recognition.

One Feedback on “The BMW 323i, Smooth and Modern Sedan”
My first taste of the BMW experience was behind the wheel of a 1999 BMW 323iSE. I immediately became addicted! The car was bought second hand from a franchise dealer, as a replacement for my tired Peugeot 405. The BMW had previously been used as a company car, and as such, had a high mileage (it was less than 3 years old, but had covered 67,000 miles).
